Continental AG (OTCBB: CTTAY) Succeeds in Renegotiating a Fresh Credit Line from European Banks
Continental AG ( OTCBB: CTTAY, or CTTAY.ob ) last week successfully closed months of negotiations with a consortium of European banks involving a 3.5 billion euro ($5 billion) loan payment maturing August, 2010. In a statement, the international automotive supplier which is battling a total of 9.5 billion euro loan ($13.6 billion) associated with the 2007 acquisition of components provider, Siemens VDO Automotive AG, said as part of the cut deal it got commitments of more than 2.5 billion euro ($3.6 billion) in credit facility including a stock sale to raise new capital of one billion euro ($1.4 billion) pencilled in for the first three months of next year.
