SunPower Corp.'s SPWRA -1.24% second-quarter loss widened sharply absent prior-year mark-to-market gains and as the U.S.-based solar-panel maker posted sharply lower margins.

SunPower Corp.’s SPWRA -1.24% second-quarter loss widened sharply absent prior-year mark-to-market gains and as the U.S.-based solar-panel maker posted sharply lower margins.

For the year, the company again cut its per-share earnings forecast, this time to 75 cents to $1.25 from its lowered June projection of $1.20 to $1.70, and affirmed its revenue view.

For current quarter, the company projected per-share earnings of 5 cents to 15 cents on revenue of $700 million to 750 million. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of 19 cents and revenue of $743 million.

SunPower, which makes solar panels and also builds solar-power systems of all sizes, has focused on expanding manufacturing capacity, cutting production costs and expanding its sales reach.

The industry has seen solar cell and module prices slide over the past few months amid government-subsidy changes in key markets in Europe and as Chinese manufacturers expand production.

Like rival First Solar Inc. (FSLR), which reported disappointing second-quarter results last week, SunPower has expanded into project development to gain market share and create demand for its products in the U.S. and other countries.

Sunpower reported a loss of $147.9 million, or $1.51 a share, from a year-earlier loss of $6.2 million, or 7 cents a share, a year earlier. Excluding prior year mark-to-market gains of $34.1 million and other impacts, the company’s loss was 19 cents, compared with year-earlier earnings of 15 cents.

Revenue surged 54% to $592.3 million.

The company last month forecast a loss of 19 cents to 20 cents on revenue of $590 million to $595 million.

Gross margin plunged to 3.2% from 22.9%, near the low end of company expectations of 3% to 4%.

Shares were up half a cent at $16.24 in after-market trading after rising 4.7% in the main session.

The stock is up 27% this year, despite a recent broad market correction.

These d ays, the shares of DSG International Plc.

These days, the shares of DSG International Plc. (ADR) (PINK:DSITY), (LON:DSGI) truly grabbed investors’ attention.

Maybe, the interest towards the company’s stock was even stronger than the interest of DSITY’s customers towards the products in the company’s mega stores.

In addition, the shares of the one of Europe’s leading retailing group were highly demanded not only on the European capital market.

Today, on the London Stock Exchange, in unison with the released by the company almost each week of this month positive news DSGI is further climbing up.

Yesterday, on the American OTC marketplace, experiencing the positive energy and the strong pressure of the bullish investor mood, DSITY succeeded to record unusual trading activity.

ADRs of DSG International Plc. closed at $0.86 with a slight decline of 0.58% from the previous trading day. The enormous volume of 1.8 million shares changing hands was the noted new record of DSITY. Together with the share price increase within the session, it presented the hot investor willingness to support the upward direction of DSITY.[BANNER]

These days, on the OTC market the company’s shares were highly appreciated even by investors with a speculative interest. Though the utmost share of the shorted volume yesterday may result in a short-term share price pullback, still remains the feeling of a possible mid- and long-term green line for DSITY.

Last Wednesday, DSG International Plc. released its first tablet trade-in scheme and the launch of the Nintendo 3DS games console.

Maybe these last developments of DSG International Plc. will bring to the company higher revenues and more clients, and will also support further

(OTC:CRWE). Not only is it true, but companies also pay Crown Equity for the service. For those of you who are still confused, today`s story is about a stock promoter, listed on the stock market.

The market has been kind towards this company recently. In the last ten days, the share price has accumulated roughly 75% in value, closing at $0.22 on Friday. Interestingly though, there are no exploding volumes of traded shares, what is more, there are session this year in which not a single share was traded. It is, however, unlikely that tomorrow’s session would be one of no trading activity. Tomorrow, the market might appreciate on the latest news.

Manas Petroleum Corporation (OTC:MNAP) got the up move again. Yesterday, the stock soared almost 10% and its traded volume rose up at once. The strangest thing here is that the gain happened unexpectedly and at no news released.

Manas Petroleum Corporation (OTC:MNAP) got the up move again. Yesterday, the stock soared almost 10% and its traded volume rose up at once. The strangest thing here is that the gain happened unexpectedly and at no news released. Though, it looks like something is going on with Manas, which will be soon revealed.

The last news by the company came up in the beginning of this month, when it announced a proposed public offering of common shares and reported its financials. However, the offering was a subject to certain conditions and Manas was hoping to close it in late March or early April this year. The news being announced, no further information on the matter has been published yet, and no one is familiar with the company’s current operations.

According to traders’ discussion on the investorshub.com message board, it is expected the up move of MNAP to continue as news of some drilling was approaching. However, no news has been released at this point. Still, this rumor has probably pumped up MNAP stock price to some extent, and now investors are curious to know how far it may go.

Another interesting fact about Manas was that last week Mr. Heinz Scholz, a director and 10% owner of the company, has disposed certain amount of its common stock with no reasonable explanation. Was it a hard effort for a gain or not, is still unanswered question though.[BANNER]

Manas Petroleum is an international oil and gas company with primary focus on exploration and development in South-Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Mongolia. Last month, MNAP hit another impressive gain on some investors’ suggestions, however, it didn’t last long. Meanwhile, the only problem of Manas remains the same – financials.

The company’s quarterly report shows no revenues, however, there are significant losses uncovered. Based on the business plan for the next 12 months, the management of Manas claims that the company will need about $8,2 million to fund its operations, though it doesn’t expect to need the additional funding before Oct 2011. At the same time, in order to continue operations beyond October, the team will still require further funds, “raised through additional equity and/or debt financing”. This, however, may be dilutive to the shareholders.

A paid promotional campaign for the stock began today, giving the shares an exceptional opportunity to repair their long-term oversold status and lack of any trading interest.

A stock promoter has sent today e-mail alerts to his subscribers, presenting the company as an established producer of generic medicine in Europe and as holding enormous potential due to its distribution licenses and competitive advantages. Unfortunately, it seems like it wasn’t love at first sight. For the paean of praise the promoter got a compensation of $75,000 in cash paid by a third party and the marketing campaign will run for five days starting today.

GENM stock looks like it could use some help in any case. The stock is highly illiquid and got the considerable volume of over 38,000 shares just in the last trading session on Friday. That volume did not move the price an inch upwards and the stock closed as usually at $0.37 for a share. Low liquidity and some bullish technical parameters could suggest that any additional demand could easily push GENM share price up without any concerns. However, even if GENM explodes today it is unlikely to stay up for long as the fundamentals of the company show that even the current stock price is by far too high.

Lastly the shares have been traded at an over 11,000 multiple to the company’s sales, the industry average being only about 8. Genmed’s business has negative tangible worth, and all the potential hiding in the “medical registration rights” valued at $5.6 million might take time and cost shareholder dilution until it gets realized.

Genmed’s latest 10-Q reveals meager revenues coming from consulting services, not from product sales, and the lower production and distribution costs stated as a competitive advantage in the promoter’s alert are also only positive projections. The management is still in the process of negotiating distribution agreements and sufficient cash to cover the short-term needs is also not available.

Although BioPack Environmental Solutions, Inc. (OTC:BPAC) intend to sell out substantially all of their assets in order to survive and the their stock has lost 80% of its value since the last time it was promoted, yesterday BPAC share price surged up. Again, powered by aggressive stock promotions.

Yesterday, BPAC has gained a lot of buying pressure already before the market opened, and entered the session with a gap up. The share price closed then at $0.17, 21.43% higher than the previous day, and this time the promoters achieved an even higher trading volume for the illiquid stock than their forerunners did in the middle of this January. After the peaks reached by the share price at that time, the stock has been climbing down all the year round, but things changed these days.

According to the promotional disclosures, two third parties have financed the second for this year promotional wave, the trading alerts being started already on Monday. At least $65,000 have been spent on the favorable coverage of BPAC, leading to 4.07 million share turnover during the day, a value 58 times the average trading volume of the shares.

At the same time, the latest financial results of BioPack Environmental and especially their latest SEC filing from last Thursday, could hardly suggest that such a run-up on the shares could take place. The company invited its shareholders to a special meeting, on which they will be asked to approve the sale of substantially all the assets the company has. For sale are all the shares of the BioPack subsidiaries, which are responsible for all BPAC manufacturing facilities and equipment in China. According to the filed document, without that sale the company is unlikely to continue as a going concern, and after the sale management plans to concentrate solely on the promoting and selling of the biodegradable food container and packaging products.

A purchaser has also been found: a company incorporated in the Virgin Islands. Together with buying all the manufacturing equipment, the purchaser has also agreed on a distribution contract, which grants BioPack the right to sell their products in Europe, North America, Australia, Africa, South America and Hong Kong for a period of 12 months.
