TOKYO (Nikkei) — Microsoft Corp. MSFT 0.00% will make video games for its Xbox 360 system available for play on smartphones, a move likely to influence the strategies of rivals Sony Corp. (SNE, 6758.TO) and Nintendo Co. (NTDOY, 7974.TO).

The software giant is mounting a response to the rise of gaming on social networking sites and mobile devices.

Microsoft’s new online service will make its worldwide debut as early as next year. It will feature new games for play on smartphones and tablet computers running the company’s next-generation operating system, tentatively named Windows 8. Movies and other digital content will also be available.

Microsoft will create tie-ins with the Xbox, such as allowing players to continue console games on their phones and to use their phones as controllers for their consoles.

Excluding portable units, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. sold 20.7 million game systems worldwide in fiscal 2010, followed by Nintendo at 15.08 million and Microsoft at 13.5 million.

A greater diversity of gaming devices gives software developers a broader range of sales channels. With its online move, Microsoft seeks to turn the tables on the competition by clinching promising new titles.

Sony Computer Entertainment will make 20 or so PlayStation games available for mobile devices like smartphones from next month, but only for Sony products at first.

Amico Games Corp. (OTC:AMCG) has been quite unstable these days

Amico Games Corp. (OTC:AMCG) has been quite unstable these days. Over the past week, the stock has been mostly on low trade, while its efforts to move up didn’t appear to be successful. Yesterday, AMCG began to move down again and no one knows how far it may go.

The most impressive thing here is that AMCG has had five promotions during the past couple of days, which apparently haven’t pumped up the stock price yet. The records show that Amico was promoted by four different promoters and each of them has been compensated $15000 by a third party, Flip Ventures LLC. Today the fifth promotion of AMCG was on, though this time the compensation and the third party involved remained unknown. Will the last promotion push up the stock price? It will be soon clear, however, it is obvious that Amico makes great efforts to get the up move. Meanwhile, investors are concerned about the stock price as it currently trades at its 52 week low.

Amico Games Corp. is a development-stage company engaged in the development and distribution of mobile phone games for the Chinese market. The last news released by the company came up about two weeks ago, when AMCG reported that the registered users for their online games have grown to over 30M. However, since then, no more on the company’s activities has been announced.[BANNER]

According to its latest 10-Q report, as of end-November, 2010 Amico’s revenue has decreased and the company’s incurred loss from operations totaled $7,144. Besides, cash and cash equivalents of AMCG have got lower, while some of its expenses have increased. The company’s management claim they anticipate to meet their ongoing cash requirements by retaining income as well as through equity or debt financing. However, the team expect that their expenses over the next 12 months will be over $2 million. In that case, Amico will certainly need additional financing for its operations, however, there is no guarantee that any such financing will be available.

As Christmas time nears, the publisher of Christian video games Left Behind Games, Inc. ( OTC:LFBG ) did not miss the chance to remind how well their games are selling particularly in that time of the year

As Christmas time nears, the publisher of Christian video games Left Behind Games, Inc. (OTC:LFBG) did not miss the chance to remind how well their games are selling particularly in that time of the year. Last week brought two new press releases from the company, and the stock kept jumping up.

An announcement from Friday afternoon reminded that one of LFBG branded real-time games has been among the 10% top selling PC games during last year’s “Christmas Holiday selling season”. A day before that, the company announced the receipt of additional orders from some leading Christian store chains. Being already in a celebration mood due to the previous revenue-related PRs, LFBG stock accumulated even more traders’ optimism yesterday.

The share price jumped 37.93% up to a close at $0.004 and the volume was over three times the average. LFBG has received unusual trading activity over the last three months, for which the combined effects of the press releases and the numerous trading alerts have substantially contributed. Technical indicators may attracts more buyers, but the fundamental support is still missing.

Last year, the company actually reported boosted sales for the last quarter of the year, but they were still by far insufficient to cover the expenses and lead to a profit. Moreover, the market’s sentiment obviously does not take into account that at the end of this June LFBG had five times more current debts that total assets and was in a dire need of cash.

Hopefully, the big gains will not go only to the shorters, who have been quite active in trading LFBG stock since the begin of its rise. The portion of the shorted volume since the beginning of the month has rarely been below 35%, and has reached 47% last week.

Multimedia Games, Inc. ( NASDAQ:MGAM ) is sticking at the new 52-week low, but as the previous support is broken, additional risks emerge. The provider of gaming systems kept its share price in channels for the past year, so the break down is an important event

Multimedia Games, Inc. (NASDAQ:MGAM) is sticking at the new 52-week low, but as the previous support is broken, additional risks emerge.

The provider of gaming systems kept its share price in channels for the past year, so the break down is an important event. Possibly, the fundamental base is no longer adequate to sustain the stock’s valuation above $4, but the price is not yet rushing straight down.

This reflects Multimedia Games’ inability to grow sales and increasing quarterly losses from operations, but these facts have been in play for over a year already. The cash flow remains solid, keeping the stock at its current level, but the high depreciation costs might soon call for additional large investments in new equipment.[BANNER]

Under the absence of top line growth, the stock price is stalling as well. Because of this lack of developments the consensus stock valuation is keeping to the known boundaries with little effort for breakout or breakdown. The latest sell off held a volume only slightly above the 50 day exponential moving average, not enough to declare trader’s commitment to start a serious dump.

The fundamentals were not promising for quite some time, and likely the pricing will only get more susceptive to the new developments in the future opening additional risks, especially for swing traders.

(OTCBB: AMCG) is a business with full scale operational results not yet published, but they tend to show promising revenue growth with the results previewed so far. Providing the Chinese public with ever so popular mobile phone games, the company is targeting one of the largest markets currently worldwide.[BANNER]

Amico generates revenues through in cooperation with Galaxy Software Ltd., which has signed a series of agreements with Amico’s subsidiary Vodafun Ltd. It’s a mixed organization, but judging from the previewed results – this doesn’t affect their ability to carry out a profitable business.

The proclaimed $1.25 million in revenue that was recently announced is just the beginning of the company’s growth, or so they like to present. Of course their market segment is promising and it should be easy to get some of the circulating cash with games that have carved their place amongst Chinese gamers. The company is seeking to achieve $10 million in sales by 2012 according to the Beacon equity report.

Amico’s most prominent games include brands presented back in 2006. These multiplayer games are still attracting new players, as the company announced a few days ago. It might turn into a pretty good business if they continue gaining market share. Clearly new games will have to be created if they want to achieve this goal and management has indicated that it plans to increase their assortment during 2010-2011.

Amico is still considerably small, but has already been appraised as one of the top Chinese gaming industry performers at the Fifth China Mobile phone Game Enterprise Public Appraisal Fair 2009-2010.
