After the surge of last week the share price of Infrax Systems Inc. (OTC:IFXY) got back down in the following days. Yesterday evening a new newsletter campaign for IFXY was launched and traders should now decide whether to expect that the jumps up is to repeat itself today.

IFXY closed yesterday at $0.0052 and got a modest increase of 1.96% in the share price, the volume was also almost ignorable with 2.47 million traded share. Last week’s promotion set the resistance now at $0.006 and there is downside support as well as the share price is currently above the middle of the trading range. Thus, technically IFXY could see another huge bounce in terms of percentage gain as the low price suggests, also speaking for that is the much higher budget of the new promotion.

The lenders have the right, at their option, to convert any amounts due plus interest into shares of common stock at a conversion price equal to 50% of the closing bid price at the date of conversion request.

QED Connect, Inc. (PINK:QEDN) stock broke its monotonous chart pattern yesterday on a record high volume. In fact, “pattern” is a too exaggerated word for the straight price line which cuts through the graph of QEDN stock.

The look of QEDN stock chart prior to yesterday reflects the evaporated interest in the stock and the total debacle of the share value, which happened in the beginning of 2010. The reason why QEDN broke the permafrost that had paralyzed the volume and the price of the company’s shares was nothing else but a paid promotion, covered earlier by Pinkinvesting.

It seems that the company didn’t sit idle and watch indifferently the started campaign. On the contrary, QEDN contributed to the pumping efforts by issuing a press release on the day the promotion started. The company announced the signing of a stock purchase and consulting agreement with Sonasoft Corporation (PINK:SSFT).[BANNER]

SSFT, however, is a company which is even more elusive than QEDN. It is marked with red stop sign on the OTC Markets and has no quotes at all. The only thing that is known for SSFT is that it is a company which provides software based solutions.

That being said, one can make his own conclusion about how prosperous the partnership between the two companies can be. Meanwhile, it is curious what will happen with the stock value after the effect of the promotion form New Stock Idea fades out.

“We need some advertising to boost the stock”, managers of Desmarais Energy Corporation said to themselves. They hurried to make their words reality. Yesterday, for the humble compensation of $17K, the shares (CVE:DES) were promoted by allpennystocks.com.

For now, the advertising efforts seem to have no positive effect. Just the opposite. Yesterday, when the promotion was made, DES slipped by 6% on the Canadian Exchange (CVE) on an almost unnoticeable turnover of 500 shares.

The low trading volume is one of the weaknesses of the stock. The average turnover for the last 30 days is only 22K. Sessions, where the volume is below 1,000 shares, are not rare occasions too.

As it seems, the stock is illiquid and not very attractive to investors. That is why it is in little demand by traders on the market. For this reason, some efforts had to be taken in order to regenerate the shares. The company’s directors decided to use the services of a promoter for the task. Perhaps, the several coming days will show whether the advertising will have a positive effect, at least on the short-term.

It is worth noting that the latest stock promoted by allpennystocks.com was that of Sphere Resources Inc. (SPHUF). The advertising efforts there were successful, but in the short run only. Within two days, the shares gained 57%, then they began falling again.

In fact, this is what happens with most promotions. In the case of Desmarais, we are still waiting to see the short-term positive effects of advertising. In addition to this negative part of the story, we should mention the company’s financials, which look far from solid:

• As at Sep. 30, 2010, Desmarais reported a working capital deficiency of $4.8M;

• There was a net loss of $0.21M for the third quarter of 2010;

• Desmarais reported only $476K in cash at the end of last September. As stated in the statements, there was even a deficiency of $39,570 in the company’s operating bank account.

Now, it is time to tell the positive facts about Desmarais Energy. The company reports revenue from petroleum and natural gas sales. The earnings are not large, but are still earnings, after all.

Last, but not least: in a release from yesterday Desmarais announced its year-end reserve evaluation, compliant with National Instrument 51-101 standards. The report shows positive results: compared to the end of 2009, proven reserves have risen by 40%, to reach 169K barrels of oil equivalent as of Dec. 31, 2010.

Abtech Holdings, Inc. (OTC:ABHD) took the way down yesterday. But the strangest thing here is that the stock price decreased despite the latest promotions and good news.

According to the records, yesterday ABHD was promoted by The Stock Psycho, pointing out that the company’s Smart Sponge technology was among the best ones in the world. The campaign cost $30000 in total, paid by Winning Media. Though, it looks like either the promotion wasn’t strong enough to pump up the stock price, or the results are still to come up. Anyway, Abtech Holdings has certainly decided to re-ensure its market position by releasing some good news on its business.

The company’s latest announcement was published just yesterday to report that the team was expanding its technology for nuclear waste-water treatment. The news came up along with the latest promotion of ABHD, though none of these has succeeded in supporting the stock price at this point. In any case, if investors got interested, it should be seen any minute.

AbTech Holdings Inc. focuses on cleaning technology products and services, specifically in the water clean-up sector. Last July, the company used to trade about 50% higher than at present, however, the stock price has moved down since then.[BANNER]

The stock chart pattern reminds of a stock that is under the influence of a promotion. And indeed, after checking with the Hotstocked database it turned out that EFIR was promoted right at the opening bell. The last financial report of the company form November last year shows that EFIR is burning money at a very fast rate. Just for the nine moths ended November, 2010 the company has lost more than $4 million, while its total accumulated deficit is nearly $31 million.

With such a financial picture at hand, it is no wonder that EFIR has been steeply declining. A year ago the stock was trading at around $1, while at present its value has plummeted to $0.002. Therefore, once the effect of the promotion wears off, the stock can rely only on thin air for support.

That being said, it cannot be determined whether the claim for a future industrial revolution by VNDB’s batteries was produced by an objective analysis or by the material compensation for the campaign. Therefore, potential investors of VNDB can lessen their risk if they rely on sources other than paid promo letters and news accompanying the promotion.
